Munawar Faruqui is hosting Hafta Vasooli, a comedy show where he jokes about current events and other topics with a new guest every episode. In a recent episode, while interacting with the audience, a young boy reminded the comedian of an Instagram story he had posted during Eid about giving clothes to those in need. The boy mentioned that he had responded to the story and sent Munawar a QR code, hoping for some financial help. Although the former Bigg Boss winner didn’t remember, he was moved by the boy’s honesty. Without hesitation, the comedian invited him on stage and sent him an undisclosed amount of money, which left the boy completely surprised.

During a segment, a boy told Munawar, “You had posted that Eid story, about giving clothes to someone. I had sent you the scanner. You had posted something and I replied, ‘Brother, I don’t have any clothes, please give me some. Think of it as Eidi and send me some money. I’ve sent the scanner’.”

After hearing the boy, the comedian says, “Bring the scanner.” Noticing that the boy was shaking with excitement, Munawar Faruqui jokingly adds, “Give me the scanner, no need to shiver while begging,” which left audience members in splits.

While the exact amount wasn’t revealed, the boy was clearly shocked after seeing it. He looked stunned, became emotional and hugged the comedian before leaving the stage.

After winning Kangana Ranaut’s Lock Upp and Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss Season 17, Munawar Faruqui is now ready to make his acting debut. He will be seen in Amazon MX Player’s First Copy, where the comedian will play the role of Arif, who works at a film production company but later turns into the brain behind a piracy network. The series, which is set to release in June, also features Krystle D’Souza, Gulshan Grover, Raza Murad and Meiyang Chang in key roles.

Munawar is not the only stand up comedian to try his hand at acting. In 2023, Anubhav Singh Bassi appeared in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. That same year, Rohan Joshi acted in the web series titled Half CA. This year, comedian Harsh Gujral also made his acting debut in Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Mere Husband Ki Biwi.
