London’s Victoria & Albert Museum is set to revamp the fashion wing of its South Kensington location in partnership with Burberry. The redesigned space is scheduled to reopen in Spring 2027 as the “Burberry Gallery” following a renovation with support from the British luxury brand.
Joshua Schulman, CEO of Burberry, described the partnership as a landmark moment for British arts and culture. “It unites two centuries-old cultural icons with a shared legacy of heritage and innovation, and a commitment to championing creativity in all its forms,” he said in a statement Monday.
The V&A’s fashion archive, designated as the UK’s National Collection, spans from rare 17th-century menswear to cutting-edge contemporary couture. The collection will remain available at V&A’s new East Storehouse space during the renovation, the museum said.
The V&A has hosted major fashion exhibitions in recent years including “Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto“, “Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams,” and “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty”. This year’s program will include shows about Cartier and Marie Antoinette.
