To maintain order and ensure smooth traffic management, the district administration has decided to extend school closures in urban areas of Varanasi until February 8, 2025. Officials stated that, in light of transportation difficulties and the well-being of students, all government, council, and aided schools from Classes 1 to 8, along with English and Hindi medium schools affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, and other boards, will continue classes in an online format. However, educational institutions in rural areas will function as usual with physical attendance.

Despite the shift to online learning, the district administration clarified that principals and staff of council-aided schools must continue reporting to their respective campuses.
