Urvashi Dholakia said, “By the time, I turned into an adult, I was a mother and a father.”
Urvashi Dholakia, known for her role in the iconic ‘Komolika’ in the popular TV series Kasautii Zindagi Kay, has always been appreciated for her acting skills. The actress has been an important figure on television with many successful shows to her credit. While her professional journey was smooth, the same cannot be said about her personal life. Recently, she opened up about dealing with separation from her ex-husband at 18 years old.
During a conversation with Hauterrfly, Urvashi Dholakia talked about a difficult phase in her life when she was just in her teens. The 45 years old year actress got married to Anuj Sachdeva at the age of 16, and gave birth to twin sons, Kshitij Dholakia and Sagar Dholakia, at 17. However, by 18 years of age, the couple was separated, leaving her in despair.
She said, “By the time, I turned into an adult, I was a mother and a father. I became all of this overnight. I wasn’t casual about it; it hit me as well.” She further elaborated on how she took time to navigate through the challenges of her life. She revealed, “There was a time when I locked myself up in the room for 1 month just to introspect about what happened. I shut down myself and didn’t talk to anybody. Just to figure out how to go ahead with this.”
Urvashi credited her parents for their unwavering support of her and her children when she needed it the most. She said, “I was very young. If my parents weren’t there, then I don’t know what I would do. If I am sitting here with you today, at this time and in this era, then I have to give credit to my parents. It means if they hadn’t supported me, because there are so many girls who don’t get support.”
The host asked Urvashi whether divorce gets easy at any point in life. She responded in denial and stated, “No, separation is a separation. It hurts.”
On the work front, Urvashi was last seen in the TV series, Power of Paanch as DGP Aasma Mazhar.
