Union Budget 2025 | India to launch 6-year ‘Atmanirbharta’ program for pulses, focus on tur, urad, masoor

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday (February 1) proposed the ‘Atmanirbharta Mission’ for Pulses, a six-year initiative aimed at achieving self-sufficiency in pulses production.

In her record 8th straight Budget presentation, the finance minister said, Our Government is implementing the national mission for edible oil seeds, for achieving aatmanirbharta in edible oils…Our govt. will now launch a 6-year mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses.”
