The Bob Collymore International Jazz Festival Shapes Kenya’s Jazz Scene

East Africa’s largest jazz event, the Bob Collymore International Jazz Festival (BCIJF), is playing a pivotal role in expanding Kenya’s jazz scene. Named after the late Bob Collymore, former CEO of Safaricom, the festival celebrates his passion for jazz and brings together local and international talent. In its third year, the festival has featured renowned acts like Judah and The Tribe, alongside global artists such as Moreira Chonguiça and Stephanie Lottermoser. BCIJF also nurtures local talent, amplifying Kenyan musicians and supporting the Ghetto Classics Youth Orchestra, helping to cultivate the next generation of jazz enthusiasts in Kenya.
