Ahead of her show’s stint, Seema Kapoor divulged details about her character sharing that the audience will find it relatable.

Veteran actress Seema Kapoor is the latest addition to the show Ram Bhavan. The show which aired last month on January 29 stars Mishkat Verma, Samiksha Jaiswal and Khushbu Rajendra in lead roles. In the Colors TV project, Seema’s portrayal of Maya Shukla is expected to add gravitas to the narrative which is a blend of drama, emotions and deep-rooted beliefs. Ahead of her show’s stint, the actress recently sat down for an interview wherein she divulged details about her character sharing that the audience will find it relatable.
In a conversation with ETimes, Seema Kapoor spoke about her character in Ram Bhavan. She said, “Maya Shukla is a self-made woman who has built an empire of her own. She wants to hand over her legacy to her only son, Dhruv, and his future wife. Therefore, she is meticulously searching for the right girl for her son.”
One of the key aspects that have the most influence on Maya’s life is her unshakable faith in astrology. Kapoor elaborated, “She is an ardent believer in astrology and follows the verdicts of her Pandit to the hilt. Nothing can come in the way of her beliefs.”
Her unwavering faith in astrology added an intriguing element to the show as it shows a contemporary setting wherein traditional beliefs clash with modern ideals. Those with a belief in the power of planetary positions will find Maya Shukla relatable. “Those who have faith in the planetary system and align their lives accordingly will definitely relate to her character. She is a very fair woman and stands by her convictions,” Seema Kapoor added.
When asked for the motivation behind her decision to take up the role, the actress noted that Rahul Kumar Tewary was the driving force as they have worked on a couple of shows earlier. Calling Tewary a genuine producer, she said that he knows how to showcase high-quality content.
Set against the backdrop of Prayagraj, the show features Mishkat Verma as Om Ramdas Vajpayee whereas Khusbu Rajendra plays Isha who is rooted in simplicity. The show takes an interesting turn with both of them facing a shared adversary – Gayatri, played by Samiksha Jaiswal.
