Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad condemned the brutal murder of a Dalit girl in Uttar Pradesh and vowed to resign if justice is not served.

NEW DELHI: Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad broke down during a press conference on Sunday, condemning the horrific murder of a Dalit girl whose unclothed body was discovered in a village in Uttar Pradesh.
The girl, whose eyes were reportedly gouged out, was found in Sardar Patel Ward of Sahanawan Gram Sabha. Prasad termed the crime “extremely sad and inhuman,” accusing the state government of failing to deliver justice.

In an emotional outburst, Prasad vowed to resign from the Lok Sabha if justice was not served.He was visibly distraught and had to be consoled by fellow panelists.
Meanwhile, Ayodhya senior superintendent of police (SSP) Rajkaran Nayyar confirmed that a suspect has been detained for questioning. Special investigation teams have been formed to probe the case.

According to the police, the girl had been missing since the night of January 30, when she was last seen sleeping with her sister. Her body was discovered the next morning in a field, with senior officials and forensic teams arriving at the scene to gather evidence.
“Preliminary findings suggest that the girl was murdered elsewhere and her body was dumped in the field,” SSP Nayyar said. He assured the public that the investigation was ongoing and vowed to bring the culprits to justice through a fast-track court.
