Rahil Azam, known for his role in the fantasy drama Hatim, recently joined the cast of the popular Television show Anupamaa after the makers introduced a generation leap. In the current timeline of the telly series, the actor plays Prem’s (Shivam Kathuria) father, Parag Kothari. Recently, during an interview, Rahil expressed his happiness about working in the Rupali Ganguly-led show and hoped that the audience would love his performance.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, Rahil said, “I am fortunate to be a part of such a renowned show. I wish to fully justify my character. I’m trying not to focus too much on the audience’s expectations because what one person likes might not be interesting to another. So I’d rather give my all in terms of character and carry out the vision of the writer and the team.”
The actor also talked about the pressure of being a part of such a hit show and said, “There is absolutely no pressure. In fact, you feel like taking a back seat because there is so much visibility, which makes things a lot easier. Once in a while, you have the opportunity to be a part of a show that has already established itself as a brand in its own right. There is no pressure when you are a part of such a show because of the high visibility.”
Anupamaa’s current track revolves around Prem and Rahi’s relationship, played by Shivam and Adrija Roy respectively. While both have now admitted to having feelings for each other, Anupama and Prem’s family, the Kotharis, haven’t gotten along well since their fight.
The show premiered in 2020 and became an instant hit due to its engaging storyline and cast performances. Apart from Rahil, other cast members who joined Anupamaa after the generational leap include Adrija, Shivam, Zalak Desai, Alka Kaushal, Sheersha Tiwari, Mazhar Sayed, Shiwani Chakraborty and Krutika Desai among others.
Rahil is a known Television actor and has appeared in different shows like Achanak 37 Saal Baad, CID, Hitler Didi, Laal Ishq, Maddam Sir, Tu Ashiqui, Dil Jaise Dhadke…Dhadakne Do, Maha Kumbh: Ek Rahasaya Ek Kahani and Dheere Dheere Se among others.
