Pratiksha Honmukhe expressed her gratitude to Rajan Shahi for giving her the opportunity to start her career in showbiz.

Last year, actress Pratiksha Honmukhe’s journey in one of the most popular and longest-running serials, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (YRKKH), came to an unexpected halt when she was ousted from the show. Having made her debut with the Star Plus serial, she quickly gained attention for her fiery performance as the antagonist, Ruhi. Unfortunately, the makers terminated her contract in just six months over allegations of “unprofessional behaviour” on the sets and “rude behaviour” with the crew.
She was not the only one. Her co-star, Shehzada Dhami, who portrayed Armaan in YRKKH, was also shown the door. Now, nearly a year after the incident, Pratiksha has broken her silence on the matter and addressed what went wrong. In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube chat show, the actress opened up about her life, both professional and personal.
During the interview, Pratiksha expressed gratitude to YRKKH producer Rajan Shahi for giving her the opportunity to kickstart her career in showbiz. She praised the television producer as a “nice human being” and pledged never to disappoint him. When the host questioned her about the incident and what went wrong, Pratiksha said that she had “moved on” from it and held no grudges against anyone.
The actress also revealed that two directors of the show were really supportive of her. They guided her, and she enjoyed working with them. However, there was a third director who did not quite like her and used to scold her during the shoot. Recalling the director’s behaviour towards her, Pratiksha said, “There’s a thin line between scolding and humiliating. It used to happen to me, and I used to cry on sets every day. I used to be anxious and scared.”
She went on to add that the cast and crew knew that she used to cry on the sets and was always stressed, citing one incident where she fainted during a dance sequence. The former YRKKH actress mentioned that she used to ignore the director’s scolding, thinking that she was new to the industry. However, she now regrets not telling Shahi about her situation. She admitted that she was wrong not to complain about the director.
When asked about the termination of her contract, Pratiksha recalled how she broke down in tears upon learning about it. The actress revealed that she was not working that day and that she and Shehzada were ousted in the presence of more than 100 crew members. In the same conversation, Pratiksha reacted to the dating rumours, sharing that she was never in a relationship with Shehzada Dhami.
