People in northern NSW and south-east Queensland brace for Tropical Cyclone Alfred – video | Australia news


With Tropical Cyclone Alfred expected to make landfall in south-east Queensland on Saturday morning, people across the region and in northern New South Wales are bracing themselves. Heavy winds and flooding have already started to batter towns such as Lismore, Ballina and Coolangatta. Residents in about 30,000 NSW homes have been ordered to evacuate, and 20,000 properties in Brisbane are at risk of flooding.
