Continuing from the previous order, on Thursday, the Patna district administration extended the closure of all government and private schools up to Class 8 until January 25, 2025 (Saturday). The Patna district administration announced this update on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
The tweet reads ‘In view of the possibility of adverse effect on the health and life of children due to extremely cold weather and low temperature in the district, the District Magistrate, Patna has imposed a ban on educational activities up to Class 8 in all private and government schools of the district including pre-schools, Anganwadi centers till 20.01.2025. Instructions have been given to conduct teaching in classes above 8 only between 09.00 am to 03.30 pm ’ (rough translation).
The academic activities related to board examinations are excluded from this order. The directive will remain in effect until January 25. Classes above Class 8 will be held only between 9 AM and 3:30 PM.
In an earlier order issued on January 21, the Patna district administration closed all schools up to Class 8 for two days.
It is expected that the Patna district administration will reopen schools on January 27, 2025, as January 26 is a national holiday.
