A man has been arrested at a major airport and charged with murder after the body of a 79-year-old woman was found at a suburban home.
The woman’s body was discovered with a fatal stab wound at a residence at The Gap in Brisbane’s north-west on Monday afternoon, Queensland police said.
About two hours later, Australian federal police arrested a 40-year-old Victorian man at Brisbane airport.
Investigators said the two knew each other, with the man charged with murder (domestic violence offence).
He was due to face Brisbane magistrates court on Tuesday.
The investigation is ongoing and a crime scene has been set up at the home on Chestnut Place.
