MUMBAI: Kandivali boy Vishad Jain, 17, bagged 100 percentile in the first session of JEE (Mains) held over five days in the last week of January. Vishad is the only student from Maharashtra to score 100 percentile out of the total 14 candidates in the country. While the National Testing Agency (NTA) released the JEE (Mains) score on Tuesday, the ranks will be released only after the results of both the sessions are out.
A student of Narayana CO School in Andheri, Vishad is currently focusing on his board preparation. The exams for the CBSE board, to which his school is affiliated, are set to commence from February 21. Vishad has his eyes set on the computer science and engineering seat at IIT-Bombay. He may appear for the second session of JEE (Mains) in April, just for practice. “I am currently preparing for my boards as well as the JEE (Advanced),” he said.
Vishad also appeared for the Indian National Olympiad in Physics, Chemistry, and Astronomy, and is awaiting the results. In his free time, he loves reading science fiction. His father works with a consultancy firm, and his mother is an MBA professor at a city-based management institute. While he managed to do well in his exams, the family was not expecting a 100 percentile. In his class X, Vishad bagged 98%.
