Jessica Alba has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Cash Warren, after 16 years of marriage.
According to court documents filed in Los Angeles County on Friday, February 7, Alba cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation and listed their official date of separation as December 27, 2024, as reported by PEOPLE.
The Fantastic Four actress has requested joint custody of their three children—Honor, Haven, and Hayes—and has also petitioned to restore her legal name to Jessica Marie Alba.
The news follows Alba’s emotional statement on Instagram, where she addressed their separation.
“I’ve been on a journey of self-realization and transformation for years—both as an individual and in partnership with Cash,” she wrote on January 16. “I’m proud of how we’ve grown as a couple and in our marriage over the last 20 years, and it’s now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.”
Their split came less than a month after they spent the holidays together, starting with Thanksgiving in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Jessica’s statement came days after it was reported in American media that she and Warren had already separated and were planning to divorce.
In July 2021, Alba spoke about juggling parenting responsibilities and her marriage in a conversation on Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt’s Instagram series. In September 2021,she spoke about building her business empire, parenting and her marriage with Warren. She said at the time that they both would share their individual needs to prioritise their relationship.
Alba and Warren, who first met on the set of Fantastic Four in 2004, tied the knot on May 19, 2008.
