Maha Shivratri is one of the most revered Hindu festivals. Today, it is being celebrated across India with great enthusiasm. Devotees observe a fast, visit temples and offer their prayers to Lord Shiva, seeking his divine blessings. Among the many who hold this sacred day close to their hearts is television actor Lakshay Khurana. He is popular for playing Aditya in Sun Neo’s serial Ishq Jabariya.

On this auspicious day, he spoke with ETimes and recalled his fond memories of Shivratri. Lakshay shared that the festival had always been a special occasion for him. He talked about his excitement as a child when he lived in Delhi, sharing, “As a child in Delhi, I would be excited the night before Shivratri because I knew we would visit the temple. At night, I would go with my father to the Shiva temple, where we would pour milk and water on the Shivling and perform puja.”

Reminiscing about his childhood, the Ishq Jabariya actor also candidly revealed that he used to look forward to eating street food during the festival. He continued, “I also looked forward to eating street food like golgappas near the temple. These remain some of my most beautiful and cherished Shivratri memories.”

Growing up, his devotion to Lord Shiva only deepened, and his way of celebrating Maha Shivratri evolved. “As I grew older, I started fasting the entire day,” Lakshay said before discussing his plans for this year. “Due to my busy shooting schedule for Ishq Jabariya, I won’t be able to fast this year. Still, I will wake up early and visit the temple with my wife,” revealed the actor.

Towards the end of the interview, Lakshay expressed his devotion to Lord Shiva, saying, “I have deep faith in Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, so I will offer milk and water to the Shivling, seek blessings, and chant ‘Har Har Mahadev.’ Shivratri is a very special occasion for me, and I always look forward to it.”
