IP University admission 2025: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has officially launched the online admission process for the academic session 2025-26. With over 40,000 seats across more than 100 affiliated colleges and university schools, aspiring candidates can apply for a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs.The online application process began on February 1, 2025.
New courses and increased intake
This year, GGSIPU introduces several new courses, including MSc in Molecular Diagnostics, MSc in Microbiology, Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), LLB (3 years), and postgraduate programs in Applied Geoinformatics and Radiological Physics. Additionally, 250 new seats have been added to various programs, complementing the 1,600 seats introduced last year.
Admission and application details
Applications are invited for 46 master’s degree programs, 40 PhD programs, and 34 undergraduate courses. The process for these programs will continue until the respective deadlines, with classes scheduled to begin on August 1, 2025. A one-time application fee of Rs 2500, covering both registration and counselling participation, must be paid during application submission.
A significant update for this academic session is the introduction of a seat reservation for single girl children and sports quota candidates in university schools. One seat per programme will be reserved for a single girl child, and a maximum of 2% of the intake will be filled through the sports quota.
Common entrance tests and counselling schedule
GGSIPU will conduct 52 Common Entrance Tests (CETs) from April 26 to May 18, 2025, across multiple cities in India. The online counselling for MBA, LLB, and LLM programs will commence on May 1, 2025, with counselling for other programs starting on June 2, 2025.
Apart from CETs, admission to several courses will also be based on national-level exams such as JEE Mains, NEET, CAT, CMAT, NIMCET, CLAT, and more. Additionally, vacant seats will be filled through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for certain undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Financial assistance and new initiatives
The university has increased the ceiling for the EWS scholarship fund from Rs 2.5 crore to Rs 3.5 crore to assist more deserving students financially. Furthermore, GGSIPU is also planning to launch an offshore campus in Guyana, supported by the government of Guyana.
