The reunion of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii’s cast was made possible by actress Sweta Keswani, who flew to Mumbai after three years.

People were hit with a wave of nostalgia when the cast of the beloved television show Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii (KGGK) had a heartfelt reunion. Nearly two decades after the show’s conclusion, actors like Sakshi Tanwar, Sweta Keswani, Deepak Qazir, and Manav Gohil, who once portrayed an on-screen family, proved that their off-screen bond remains just as strong. The reunion was hosted by the show’s writer and producer, Mitu, who used to be the creative powerhouse behind KGGK during her time at Balaji Telefilms.
Their reunion was filled with laughter and a flood of emotions as the stars of television’s one of the most iconic serials reminisced about their time together. Gautam Chaturvedi, who portrayed Gaurav in KGGK, summed up the sentiment of their get-together, sharing how the show remains very special to its cast. “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii is very special to all of us. We have known each other for over 25 years—half our lives. We built our careers together, watched families grow, and shared priceless moments. Spending 20-25 days a month together back then created an unbreakable bond,” he said, as quoted by ETimes.
Further, Gautam thanked Mitu for her initiative in their reunion and expressed his gratitude for letting them reunite and relive their past. Another contributing factor to the KGGK’s cast reunion was that actress Sweta Keswani visited India after three years. Her return gave them the perfect opportunity for a long-overdue reunion.
Mitu shared that she offered to host the reunion as her home was centrally located and added that the evening was more than just another reunion. For her, it felt like returning home. Talking about the gathering, she expressed, “For me, it is not about meeting the cast of KGGK; it is about reuniting with friends and family. We all started and grew together, and though we met in small groups, coming together as a gang is always wholesome. It recharges my batteries and feels like coming home.”
The get-together was attended by Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Gohil, Gautam Chaturvedi, Deepak Qazir, Sucheeta Trivedi, Shweta Kawaatra, and Madhuri Bhatia along with Sweta Keswani.
Furthermore, they also revealed that Sweta suggested everyone should take turns to speak for two minutes about their present lives. What began as a joyful activity soon turned into deep conversations. Mitu revealed that they talked about things which they wouldn’t have spoken about normally.
Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki ran on Star Plus for eight years, from 2000 to 2008. Created by Ektaa Kapoor, the show explored the worlds of Parvati (Sakshi Tanwar) and Om Agarwal (Kiran Karmarkar), living in a joint Marwadi family.
