Force Motors has secured a significant order from the Indian Defence Forces, marking a major milestone in its long-standing association with the country’s military. The company will supply 2,978 units of the Force Gurkha.
Force Gurkha: What it offers
While the exact variant to be deployed remains undisclosed, the model is available in both three-door and five-door versions. The Gurkha received a facelift last year, bringing several upgrades inside and out. The latest iteration features redesigned alloy wheels, updated headlamps, a refreshed grille, and a more premium interior with new upholstery. A fully digital instrument cluster, an 8.0-inch infotainment screen, dual front airbags, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) further elevate the value of the package.
Force Gurkha: Engine and performance
Under the hood, the SUV is powered by an upgraded 2.6-litre Mercedes-sourced diesel motor, now delivering 140 hp and 320 Nm of torque. With a best-in-class 233mm ground clearance, the Gurkha is well-equipped to tackle challenging terrains, making it an ideal fit for military operations.
Force Motors has a long history of supplying vehicles to the defence sector, and this latest order further cements its reputation as a key player in military-grade mobility solutions. The four-door civilian version of the Gurkha is priced at Rs 18 lakh, ex-showroom, though the specifications for the defence models may differ based on operational requirements.
