Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to embark on an official visit to the United Kingdom and Austria from April 8 to 13. During the visit, she will co-chair the 13th India-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) with UK Chancellor of the Exchequer on April 9 in London, alongside multiple bilateral meetings and investor engagements.
The 13th EFD will focus on advancing financial sector cooperation, with key agenda items including partnerships in GIFT City, investments in insurance and pension sectors, FinTech and digital economy, and mobilisation of sustainable climate finance.
The two sides are also expected to announce new initiatives and release joint reports.
In London, Sitharaman will co-host the India-UK Investor Roundtable with UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade Jonathan Reynolds, in collaboration with the City of London. The roundtable will see participation from top executives of British pension funds, insurance firms, and banks.

In Austria, she will meet senior leaders including Finance Minister Markus Marterbauer and Chancellor Christian Stocker. A roundtable with Austrian CEOs, co-chaired with Minister Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer, will explore investment opportunities in India’s expanding economic landscape.
Sitharaman is also likely to attend the IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington DC, scheduled from 21 to 26 April.
