Elon Musk's 25-year-old DOGE staffer resigns: As 'Normalize Indian hate', and other similar posts linked to deleted social-media account surface

Elon Musk’s DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) is facing another controversy. This time over the resignation of a staff member. Marko Elez, a member of Elon Musk‘s DOGE team has reportedly resigned after racist social media posts linked to him surfaced. The controversy emerged when archived posts from a now-deleted Twitter account, believed to be of Elez, were revealed by The Wall Street Journal.
Marko Elez is one of the six young engineers hired by Elon Musk for DOGE. The youngest member in the team is 19-year-old Edward Coristine. It also includes 21-year-old Indian-origin Akash Boba.
As per the WSJ report, the posts from the account, @nullllptr, advocated racism and eugenics. The posts shared reportedly included statements such as “Normalize Indian hate,” targeting Indian tech workers in Silicon Valley, and advocating for an eugenic immigration policy. Another post read, “You could not pay me to marry outside of my ethnicity,” while another expressed hostility toward both sides in the Israel-Gaza conflict.

White House confirms Marko Elez’s resignation

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt confirmed Elez’s resignation, following inquiries from the Wall Street Journal. Elez’s posts have drawn criticism from lawmakers and federal employee unions, raising concerns about the vetting process for DOGE staffers and their access to sensitive government data.
The 25-year-old programmer Elez has previously worked with Elon Musk at SpaceX and Twitter, focusing on artificial intelligence. His resignation comes just hours after he was granted restricted access to the Treasury payment system, sparking further controversy over Musk’s government restructuring efforts. A US District Court judge had ruled that Elez could continue accessing the system but limited his ability to share data.
