In a recent interview, Donal Bisht opened up about shooting in China amid the HMPV outbreak and why she couldn’t postpone it.

Donal Bisht, known for her stint in Bigg Boss 15, is shooting her first international film in China. She has been roped in a project with director Andrew Lau, who has been behind the making of many acclaimed films. However, due to the HMPV outbreak there, Bisht’s family back home is extremely worried. In a recent conversation, the actress opened up about working over there while maintaining proper safety precautions and other details.
In an interview, Donal Bisht revealed how she was finalised for the role in her first International project. She also divulged details about the timeline of her work alongside the HMPV outbreak. “I am shooting for a project in Foshan with director Andrew Lau, who has made films like Infernal Affairs and Young And Dangerous. When I was finalised for the role, there were no reports of the virus, but by the time I travelled to China in January, HMPV had started spreading,” Bisht told ETimes.
In the same interview, the actress also talked about her parents, who have been worried about her working outside India. Bisht stated, “My parents and friends back home are worried about me. This was a work commitment, so I couldn’t postpone it,” adding about the safety measures the cast and crew have been maintaining while shooting for the project. “People here are taking a lot of precautions. I’m wearing a mask all the time. Luckily, the location where we are currently shooting is far away from where most of the cases have been found. As soon as my schedule is over in a few days, I will return to India,” he said.
On the work front, Donal Bisht began working as an anchor for DD National’s Chitrahaar. Later, she made her acting debut in 2015 with the television serial Airlines in the role of a journalist. Following which, she was part of several TV serials and web shows, including Ek Deewaana Tha, Roop – Mard Ka Naya Swaroop, Laal Ishq, Doon Kaand and Tu Zakhm Hai 2. The actress last appeared on the popular reality show Bigg Boss 15 in 2021. In a previous interview with ETimes, the actress said, “Many people want me to make a comeback to television. But I stopped doing TV shows because I was doing web shows and films in the South film industry.”
Bisht is all set to make her Telugu and Kannada film debut with the movie Dare To Sleep, in which she will co-star with Chetan Kumar. Alongside this, she has also been working on her first international project in China.
