Divyanka Tripathi and her husband Vivek Dhaiya fell victim to a robbery while holidaying in Italy last year. They lost their passport and other belongings worth Rs 10 lakh when thieves smashed the window of their vehicle while they were at a resort close to the Italian tourist town. Incidents like these could be heart-wrenching and might leave a strong impact. But despite that, the couple managed to “make the best out of” their trip and turned “troubles into memories.”
Taking to Instagram, Divyanka dropped a throwback video from her Italian holiday wherein she could be seen jamming with her loving husband on the hit track Why This Kolaveri Di inside a car. The duo appeared to be happily enjoying their time in Italy, despite the theft.
Sharing the video on Instagram, Divyanka wrote, “A little sneak peek—two days after the theft in Italy. Turning troubles into memories, we made the best of it!”
As soon as the Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actress dropped the clip, the comment section was flooded with reactions from fans and celebs alike. Vivek commented, “Italy: 1 vs Us: Still fabulous.” An Instagram user wrote, “Aww! This is such a beautiful lesson—no matter what happens in life, we should keep smiling, enjoy our favourite songs and turn sadness into happiness.” One of them noted, “World best beautiful couple. God bless you. Always be happy and together.”
Earlier, while speaking to ETimesTV about the incident, Vivek said, “We arrived in Florence and planned to stay for one day. We went to see a place we loved for our stay and left all of our belongings in a car outside. When we returned to recover our belongings, we were shocked to discover that the car had been broken into, and our passports, wallets, money, shopping, and all of our valuables were stolen. Fortunately, they left some old clothes and food.”
Divyanka and Vivek first met on the sets of their popular show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and tied the knot in July 2016 after a few months of engagement.
On the work front, Divyanka was last seen in the web show The Magic of Shiri which premiered on JioCinema in November last year. Vivek, on the other hand, was last seen as a contestant in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11.
