MUMBAI: Satish Salian, father of Disha Salian — former manager to deceased actor Sushant Singh Rajput — filed a petition on Friday before the Bombay High Court seeking a fresh investigation by CBI into his daughter’s death. He alleged mysterious circumstances that led to her demise and political involvement for its ‘cover up’.
Salian, 28, died on June 8, 2020, after falling off the 14th floor of a residential building in suburban Malad, six days before Sushant Singh Rajput’s death at his Bandra residence on June 14, the police had said then. Satish Salian has demanded the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and MLA Aaditya Thackeray.
It was filed through advocate Abhishek Mishra and is auto-listed for hearing before a bench of Justices Revati Mohite-Dere and Neela K Gokhale on April 2.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Narayan Rane on Saturday claimed the then chief minister Uddhav Thackeray had called him twice and “requested” not to drag his son Aaditya Thackeray in the Disha Salian death case. The former Union minister further claimed he told Thackeray that he had not named anybody and only referred to a minister in his press conference.
Addressing the media, Rane demanded the police register an FIR and arrest the former minister (read Aaditya Thackeray). “When he was CM, Uddhav Thackeray called me twice during the Covid pandemic and requested me not to drag his son in the Disha Salian case,” the BJP MP claimed.
Rane claimed Rajput was murdered. Uddhav Thackeray had rubbished the claim and said his son Aaditya was not even remotely connected to the case. Aaditya, too, said the charges were an attempt to malign him and he would answer them in court. tnn & agencies
