As Celebrity MasterChef, hosted by Farah Khan, nears its grand finale, the competition among the top six contestants is getting tougher. In a recent episode, social media influencer Faisal Shaikh, popularly known as Mr Faisu, faced disappointment as his dish received criticism from the judges. Chef Ranveer Brar remarked, “Thankfully, it was not a black apron challenge,” highlighting his close call with elimination.
In the recent challenge, the contestants were tasked to trade ingredients among themselves and prepare their unique dishes. Faisu made a special Pasta and chicken dish with his ingredients. However, the outcome was unexpected as the judges were left unimpressed with his dish. Reviewing his preparation, Chef Vikas Khanna stated, “Aapki awaz kho gayi iss dish me. Nothing is matching in this and none of the elements are supporting.” His words indicated that the dish lacked harmony, with flavours that did not complement each other.
Chef Ranveer Brar, on the other hand, said, “This is not a good dish, and fortunately, this is not a black apron challenge.” The black apron challenge is a high-risk phase that determines elimination, and Ranveer’s statement highlighted Faisu’s near escape from a major defeat.
Along with Faisal Shaikh, contestants Gaurav Khanna, Archana Gautam, and Rajiv Adatia also struggled to impress in the semi-final stage of Celebrity MasterChef. The judges expressed disappointment, stating that the dishes did not meet expectations, casting uncertainty over their chances in the competition.
Among all, Nikki Tamboli triumphed in the Trade challenge, solidifying her place among the top finalists. She even earned a special spoon tap from Chef Brar for her dish. Meanwhile, Tejasswi Prakash also impressed the judges with her dish, receiving praise for its flavours and presentation.
Recently, veteran actress and contestant Usha Nadkarni was eliminated from Celebrity MasterChef and Dipika Kakar Ibrahim made an exit mid-way due to her health issues. The show premieres on Sony TV from Monday to Friday at 8:30 pm. The makers are yet to announce the finale date.
