In an interview with Telly Talk, Karan Veer Mehra opened up about the unwavering support of his mother, who never compared him to his sister and always stood by him during his academic struggles. He said, “My sister and I have been taught to focus on our own achievements. You’ll see our home filled with medals from various extracurricular activities, dramatics, sports, and academics. My sister was excellent in studies, whereas I struggled. I was dyslexic, which wasn’t diagnosed until much later.”

The actor revealed that throughout his school years, he struggled to pass. However, during the summer break before his 10th standard board exams, his mother took the initiative to read his books to him. What surprised her was that, despite his previous difficulties, he was able to answer all the questions correctly. He said, “She arranged for tuition classes for me in math and accounts. And surprisingly, I scored 72% in my tenth standard exams. It was a shock for everyone at home. My mom realized that I had a problem with reading, not understanding.”
