Erica Fernandes, known for her roles in Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi and Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, made a name for herself in the television industry before stepping away from the spotlight and relocating to Dubai. In a recent podcast with Shardul Pandit, the actress opened up about the harsh realities of the entertainment industry, including the casting couch and the loneliness behind the glitz and glamour.

In conversation with Shardul Pandit, Erica stated, “Being an actor is not enough. People think the industry is very colourful and glam. I am sorry, bahut khokla hai ye industry. It looks shiny from outside, but you won’t have anybody inside. You will feel alone. There are fewer people who are genuine.” She added that people are “double-faced” and as a result she has lost a lot of opportunities.

When asked about her views on the casting couch in the industry, Erica Fernandes emphasised the importance of staying true to oneself and not compromising personal values for success. She stated, “It really depends on person on how far you would go to achieve something. There are a lot of people who don’t care. If they want to achieve something, they don’t know the limits. They would cross all limits just to gain that. Your heart has to be at the right place.”

However, Erica noted that she has grown more mature over time, and her perspective on life and career has evolved.

On the work front, Erica was last seen in Love Adhura, directed by Tanveer Bookwala, alongside Karan Kundrra, Saqib Ayub, Chiragg Khatri, Vivek Madaan, Abhilasha B. Poul, and Jaineeraj Rajpurohit. A modern love story infused with drama, the film captivated audiences with its gripping narrative of desire, deceit and intrigue, set against the picturesque backdrop of Munnar.

She also starred in the web series Bada Sheher Choti Family alongside Nakuul Mehta. The series followed a small family as they transitioned from their hometown of Indore to the bustling city of Mumbai, capturing the struggles and aspirations that come with such a big move.
