State Bank of India (SBI) has said that customers may encounter significant disruptions to the bank’s online services such as UPI due to technical issues. The bank has said that they are actively working to address the problems.
“We are facing technical issues in UPl, due to which customers may face issues in availing UPI services. UPI Services will be resumed by 20:00 Hrs IST dated 12.03.2025,” SBI said in a post on X.
“Customers may continue to use UPI lite services for uninterrupted service,” it added.
However, at the time of writing, the bank has not provided an update whether the services are back online. Customers are advised to stay updated through official SBI channels for further information and updates regarding the service disruptions.
As per the data from the outage tracking website Downdetector, a sharp increase in reported problems started around 7:51 pm Indian Standard Time (IST).
Online banking services have also been significantly impacted, representing the maximum 55% of the reported problems. Mobile banking is the second-most affected area, accounting for 26% of all reports. Additionally, problems in funds transfer have been reported by 19% of users, indicating a broader range of accessibility issues.
SBI suffers second outage in two days
The development comes a day after SBI announced that it faced technical problems in UPI that have affected the service.
“We are facing technical issues in UPI, due to which customers may face intermittent issues in availing UPI services. UPI Services will be resumed by 15:30 Hrs IST dated 11.03.2025. Customers may continue to use UPI lite services for uninterrupted service,” SBI said in a post on Tuesday.
