Birthdays are indeed special, and cake makes them even sweeter. Themed cakes, in particular, have become a culinary trend. These edible works of art go beyond flavour, often representing personalised preferences. Now, a man has taken themed cakes to another level for his nephew’s 3rd birthday. He created a stunning Hot Wheels-inspired cake that could easily claim the title of being the coolest dessert. If you haven’t guessed already, his nephew is a Hot Wheels aficionado, so it was specially tailor-made for the kid. A video of the exceptional sweet treat was posted on Instagram.
The clip opens to the elaborate arrangement displayed on the table. Hot Wheels tracks were laid out alongside a delicious cake in the middle. The creamy dessert was decorated with donut-shaped chocolates on the sides and Oreo cookies on the top, with lip-smacking butterscotch crumble protruding from the centre. The cake’s base featured a hollowed-out element through which went the tracks. As the man operated the toy cars, they whizzed through the opening, creating a fantastic presentation. The spectacular set-up left the young birthday boy visibly overjoyed as he manoeuvred the toy cars. And guess what? Even the pet cats appeared to enjoy the visual feast.
The video was recorded by the man’s wife. The side note read, “HE DOES IT AGAIN!! The coolest cake for our Hot Wheels-loving nephew Jack.”
