Fans were in for a treat as Jason Derulo brought his energy to two iconic Bollywood numbers.
American hitmaker Jason Derulo, known chart-toppers like Swalla,’ recently experienced the colourful world of Bollywood during his promotional tour to India. Derulo, who was in the country to promote his latest track Snake, didn’t just stay within his comfort zone but dove straight into the heart of Indian music and dance. The artist made an appearance on the reality show, India’s Best Dancer VS Super Dance, where he showed his dance moves to an ecstatic audience.
Fans were in for a treat as Derulo brought his energy to two iconic Bollywood numbers. First, he busted some moves to the iconic Shah Rukh Khan track ‘Chammak Challo’ from Ra.One, a song sung by Akon and Hamsika Iyer. But that wasn’t all, Derulo also nailed the playful steps of the classic ‘UP Wala Thumka’ from the 1997 film Hero No. 1. The track, originally sung by Sonu Nigam and starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor, has remained a fan favourite for decades and Derulo’s take on it had the audience going wild.
His enthusiasm for the Bollywood music scene was infectious. The crowd roared with applause as they cheered him on. Choreographer Vaibhav Bhagwat taught him the hook steps of the popular number and Derulo followed effortlessly. He also took to Instagram to share a clip from his performance with fans and asked “India, How’d I do?”
Soon after the video, fans showered love and appreciation in the comments. “Much love to Jason Derulo for being a very good learner,” one fan commented. Another wrote, “Yes, so fun! I’ve been to a party like this, and it was WILD! So amazing and fun!!” “Amazing, you are the best, can’t believe it,” read another comment.
Jason’s latest music video, Snake, also features Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi. Directed by Moroccan filmmaker Abderrafia El Abdioui, the music video is shot against the breathtaking backdrop of Marrakesh, Morocco. The choreography for the video was crafted by none other than Indian choreographer Rajit Dev. According to Nora Fatehi, who collaborates with Derulo on the track, they “fused futuristic Moroccan influences with urban styles, creating a powerful showcase of dance and expression like never before.”
