An explosive half-century by Johnson Charles took Sharjah Warriorz to an emphatic nine-wicket victory over Dubai Capitals in the ILT20 on Tuesday, and the blistering knock included a 28-run over.
Chasing a below-par target of 132, Charles smashed 71 runs of just 33 balls and added 123 runs with fellow opener Tom Kohler-Cadmore to orchestrate a perfect chase at the Dubai International Stadium, completed in just 11.5 overs.

The powerplay overs effectively settled the match as Charles and Kohler-Cadmore controlled the proceedings, scoring the most runs in the first six overs of powerplay this season. The 79 runs coming during that period saw Charles particularly destructive, launching five massive sixes, including a notable 28-run assault against Zahir Khan.

Charles reached his half-century in 21 deliveries. His aggressive innings came to an end in the 11th over when Sikandar Raza dismissed him. His smoked 8 sixes and 3 fours.
Kohler-Cadmore sealed the victory in the subsequent over by hitting a boundary off Dushmantha Chameera. He remained unbeaten on 54 runs from 32 balls, including 8 fours and 2 sixes.
Earlier, the Warriorz’s spinners put up a good show, led by Australia leg-spinner Adam Zampa who claimed two wickets for 28 runs, limiting the Dubai Capitals to 131 for 9.
This victory improved the Warriorz’s net run rate, keeping them alive in the race to playoffs.
